Maura McHugh lives in Galway, Ireland. She is a writer, screenwriter, playwright, critic, and has served on the juries of international literary, comic book, and film awards.

Her short stories have appeared in publications in the USA and the UK. She co-wrote the mini-series Witchfinder: The Mysteries of Unland with Kim Newman, for Dark Horse Comics.
